Has anyone ever heard *or* have *or* had this problem with their 2005 Tahoe (older *or* newer) where turning the steering wheel (in my case) to the left can sometimes be difficult? It started about 2 weeks ago with just a sound as I turned the steering wheel to the left just to pull out of a parking space. Kind of like a long ''whoosh'' sound as the wheel was turned. It progressively went from the just the sound to the steering wheel actually getting harder to turn. Sometimes it would be a little difficult but other times I have to put some serious muscle into it. Just today it felt like it wouldn''t turn anymore when I pulled into my driveway! I called the local dealership and they guy estimated a cost between $800 & $1,000 to fix it! Something to do with gears in the steering? I am not familiar with the steering components so I can''t recall his exact words. What do you guys think it is?
Thanks,
Mike
